Introducing New Gallery Grids: More Ways to Shape Your Story

A website mockup shows a photo grid layout with style and spacing options, displayed on a beige background. Pop-up windows allow users to customize gallery grids and photo spacing for desktop and mobile views, highlighting new features designed to enhance story creation online.
The way images are arranged in a gallery shapes how the story unfolds, setting the rhythm and flow of the entire experience.

With new Gallery Grids, Pic-Time photographers now have more layouts and editing controls to shape each gallery around the images, the story, and their brand. From the overall composition to the image size, the new tools provide greater creative control while making gallery creation faster and easier.

This Article in a Nutshell

In this article, we introduce Pic-Time’s new Gallery Grids and explore how flexible layouts, visual editing tools, mobile controls, and loading animations give photographers more creative control.

Gallery Grids now include seven different grid types, each bringing its own character to the gallery.

Alongside the existing Pic-Time Grid, the new Vertical and Horizontal grids offer elegant ways to present images. Four additional designs – Sorted, Organized, Editorial, and Scattered – open up a broader range of creative possibilities.

Choose something clean and refined, carefully structured, bold and editorial, or playful and artistic. Whether you’re matching the atmosphere of a particular shoot or maintaining a consistent visual identity, there’s a grid to fit both the gallery’s vibe and your brand.

A collage of five photos shows minimalist interiors with arched ceilings, a couch with cushions, a shower, a row of glasses, and a neatly made bed. Grid layout icons are displayed above the collage, inviting you to explore New Gallery Grids and Shape Your Story through curated design inspiration.

Shape the Layout from One Visual Workspace

The new Grid section in your Design tab brings all the layout controls together next to your gallery preview screen, so you can see each change as you make it.

Select a grid, set image size and spacing, drag and drop images to reorder them, enlarge key moments (available only in the Pic-Time grid), or hide photos from the gallery.

No need to switch between different editing views – these controls make it easier to experiment with the sequence and presentation of your images and create a gallery that feels intentional from beginning to end.

Fine-Tune the Mobile Experience

Each one of the grids has a mobile version designed specifically for smaller screens. Dedicated mobile controls also let you adjust image size and spacing independently from the desktop presentation. This gives you more control over how the gallery feels on the devices your clients use most.

Set Highlights Apart

In galleries containing hundreds or even thousands of images, the Highlights scene provides a curated introduction to the full story. A carefully curated one can make a powerful first impression before clients explore the complete collection.

You can now give the Highlights scene its own grid, distinguishing those standout images from the rest of the gallery. This creates a clear visual change of pace and gives the most important moments a rhythm of their own.

Add Movement with Loading Animations

A new animation section lets you choose from seven grid-loading effects. Each one introduces images differently as clients move through the gallery, adding another layer of personality to the experience.

From subtle transitions to more expressive effects, loading animations help the gallery feel considered down to the smallest detail.

Vertical and Horizontal grids are available across all Pic-Time plans, along with the existing Pic-Time Grid. Free and Beginner plans also get the new editing environment and dedicated mobile controls.

Professional and Advanced plan users get the four additional editorial grids, along with a separate grid for the Highlights scene and the new loading animations.

What are Pic-Time’s Gallery Grids?

Pic-Time’s Gallery Grids are customizable photo layouts that determine how images are arranged and presented throughout a gallery. Photographers can use them to shape the gallery’s composition, rhythm, flow, and overall visual style.

How many photo gallery layouts are available in Pic-Time?

Currently, Pic-Time offers seven gallery grid types: Pic-Time, Vertical, Horizontal, Sorted, Organized, Editorial, and Scattered. Each creates a different visual structure, making it easier to match the gallery layout to the images and the photographer’s brand.

Can photographers customize their gallery layout in Pic-Time?

Yes. Photographers can select a grid, adjust image size and spacing, drag and drop images to reorder them, enlarge key moments (only in the Pic-Time grid), and hide photos – all while viewing the gallery in real-time as they edit.

Can the mobile gallery layout be customized separately?

Photographers can adjust image size and spacing specifically for mobile while retaining the mobile version of their chosen grid. This provides greater control over how the gallery appears on smaller screens without requiring a separate grid design.

Which Pic-Time plans include the new Gallery Grids?

All Pic-Time plans include the Pic-Time, Vertical, and Horizontal grids, along with the visual editing environment and dedicated mobile controls. Professional and Advanced plans also include the Sorted, Organized, Editorial, and Scattered grids, the ability to choose a separate grid for the Highlights scene, and seven loading animations.
